Lalone and Shaw honored with PrestoSports Men's Indoor Track & Field weekly awards


CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announces the PrestoSports Men's Indoor Track and Field weekly awards. Cortland's Peytone Lalone (Ogensberg, N.Y.) has been named the PrestoSports Track Athlete of the Week.  Brockport's Taj Shaw (Orchard Park, N.Y.) has been named the PrestoSports Field Athlete of the Week.

Lalone finished fourth out of 69 competitors in the 200-meter dash at the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational. His time of 22.42 seconds is an AARTFC qualifier and as of Sunday morning ranked 16th nationally in Division III. In addition, Lalone ran the opening leg on Cortland's 4x400-meter relay team that finished second in 3:23.52, also an AARTFC qualifier and ranked 13th nationally as of Sunday.

Shaw won both the triple jump and long jump at the Tiger Invitational over the weekend. His triple jump distance of 14.34 meters was his best mark of the season and placed him 10th on the NCAA Division III National Qualifying list. Shaw won the long jump with a leap of 6.94 meters.
