Swimmers and Divers of the Week Announced
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has announced the Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week for the week ending Dec. 4.
Men’s Diver of the Week
Oneonta: Jermaine Miller SO (Elmira, NY) Southside
Jermaine Miller won the 1-meter diving with a score of 426.15 while finishing second in the 3-meter event with a score of 378.30 as he led the Red Dragons to a 3rd place finish at the ECAC winter championships this past weekend. His 1-meter score was an NCAA qualifying mark. His performances earned him the Diver of the Meet as selected by the coaches of the participating teams. Miller becomes the second male diver for Oneonta to win an ECAC title.

Women’s Diver of the Week
Fredonia: Sarah Ficarro JR (Owego, NY) Owego
Ficarro won both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions during the three-day Fredonia State Blue Devil Invitational. Set a team's 6-dive score record during 1-meter preliminaries and finished with an 11-dive score of 464.25, a new pool record as well as an NCAA provisional score. Her winning score of 470.90 in the 3-meter competition was also an NCAA provisional mark. The Blue Devils finished first in the eight-team standings.

Oswego: Jordan Prophet FR (Brockville, Ontario)
Jordan Prophet set three school records with three first-place finishes on each of the Fredonia Invitational. He started by winning the 200 IM on Friday with a time of 1:56.82 besting the previous mark of 1:59.70 set by Dan Callinan in 2006. On Saturday, Prophet won the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:54.48 bettering the previous mark of 1:56.71 was set by Jacob VanEtten in 2009. Prophet closed out the meet by winning the 400 IM with a time of 4:11.57, which was 24.49 seconds faster than the second-place competitor. He also competed in the 800 freestyle, 400 medley, 200 medley, and 400 freestyle relays.

Geneseo: Abby Max FR (New Hartford, NY) New Hartford
Max had a spectacular meet for the Blue Wave at the Ithaca Invitational as she won the 500 yard freestyle in a pool record time of 5:05.42, won the 200 freestyle in a pool record time of 1:54.87, placed second in the 100 backstroke in a school record and NCAA provisional time of 58.32 and finished third in the 200 back in 2:08.72. In addition, Max participated on the winning 800 free relay in a pool record time of 7:49.02, the second place 400 free relay in 3:34.81, the second place 400 medley relay in 3:57.46 and anchored the 200 free relay to a fourth place time of 1:39.12.
