Danny Jackson Selected to D3baseball.com National Team of the Week

Cortland senior shortstop Danny Jackson (Lagrangeville/Arlington) has been named to the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week for the week ending April 12. The team consists of the top players for the week, by position, among all Division III schools. Jackson was named to the national team for the second time in his career; he earned a spot in mid-April last season.
Jackson batted .700 (7-for-10) with a double, a walk, six RBI and three runs scored in Cortland's three-game sweep of Fredonia last Friday and Saturday. He opened the series by going 3-for-5 with a double, four RBI and two runs scored in a 13-3 victory on Friday. The following day, Jackson went 3-for-3 with a walk and two RBI in a 10-0 win in Game 1 and finished 1-for-2 with a run scored in a 10-0 win in Game 2. He also handled seven chances at shortstop without an error, recording four putouts and three assists.
Thorugh April 14, Jackson has played in 27 games, 16 as a starter, and is batting .355 with five doubles, a homer, 17 RBI, 12 walks and 17 runs scored.
Cortland (21-8-1, 13-1 SUNYAC) will play a non-league doubleheader at RPI on Saturday at noon.
