SUNYAC Selects PrestoSports Men's Lacrosse Weekly Awards
CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected New Paltz's Ryan Scully (Bay Shore, N.Y.) as PrestoSports Men's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week and Oswego's Kevin O'Donnell (Cleveland, Ohio) as PrestoSports Goalie of the Week.
Scully helped New Paltz to the program's first ever win in its inaugural game Friday against Elmira. Scully fittingly scored the the Hawks' first ever goal to give the team an early lead, and then rattled off four more goals and added an assist on the day to lead the team to a 14-4 victory. He scored five goals on 13 shots for a .769 shot on goal percentage, while also adding an assist and three caused turnovers in the game.
Junior O'Donnell of Oswego made a career-high 24 saves as the Lakers defeated the Hartwick Hawks on Sunday afternoon at the Laker Turf Field. It was the fifth time O'Donnell has had 20 or more saves in a contest and second straight season doing it against the Hawks, as he posted 21 a year ago in the team's 6-5 win.
