New Paltz Softball Helps Out Community at Queens Galley Soup Kitchen
KINGSTON, N.Y. – The State University of New York at New Paltz softball team gave back to the community on Sunday, helping out at the Queens Galley soup kitchen in Kingston, N.Y. The softball team helped out at the lunch and dinner shifts, serving in a variety of roles.
The team helped cook, serve, clean up dishes, waitress, bus tables and perform preparation work for cooking.
"I think it opened their eyes and realize how lucky they are and what they really have," head coach Tony Ciccarello said. "They were thrilled to be able to help out in a meaningful way, especially around the winter holiday season."
