Carson LiCastri, Wrestler, Oneonta
Carson LiCastri, the fourth nationally ranked 197-pounder by the NWCA, went 4-0 with two first round pins and a major, and defeated NWCA's No. 3 nationally ranked 197-pounder en route to winning the 197 title at the Wilkes Invitational. His run started with a 1:23 fall and a 41-second fall, then, in the semifinals, LiCastri recorded two takedowns in the first period, a four-point nearfall in the second, and another takedown in the third for a 17-7 major. In the championship match, LiCastri had a rematch against one of his opponents from last year's NCAA Championships, Will Davis (Elizabethtown), who is nationally ranked third by NWCA at 197 lbs. With the match tied at one, LiCastri recorded a takedown with 55 seconds left to go up 4-1. Davis was able to escape with 42 seconds remaining, but he could not get a takedown and LiCastri won the 4-2 decision.
