Cardinals Participate in Community Service, Team-Building Activities
PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Recently, the Plattsburgh State women's soccer team took some time out of its preseason schedule to brighten the day of some youngsters at the Vermont Children's Hospital.
On Saturday, August 24, a total of 10 student-athletes went door-to-door in the Burlington, Vt., institution to spend time with the children. Additionally, the team got together in the lobby to entertain the kids with some violin music provided by assistant coach Shay Gestal as well as some Irish step dancing.
2013 marks the third trip the Cardinals have taken to the Vermont Children's Hospital.
In addition to their stopover at the Vermont Children's Hospital, the Cardinals also traded in their cleats for hiking shoes to scale Rattlesnake Mountain in Willsboro, N.Y.
The Cardinals will begin their 2013 campaign by facing off against Colby-Sawyer in New London, N.H., on Friday at 5 p.m.
