Laferriere and Matthes Named SUNYAC Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC selects Oswego's Jayna Laferriere and Cortland's Samantha Matthes as its Women's Swimmer and Diver of the Week respectively.
On Saturday the Lakers hosted Cortland and Laferriere took home three indivudal first place finishes and one relay. She won the women's 200 free (2:00.34), the women's 50 yard free (24.56), the women's 100 yard free (55.67), and was part of the women's 200 yard free relay team that finished first.
Matthes won the 3-meter diving competition with a 6-dive score of 236.10 points during Cortland's 147-147 dual tie at Oswego Saturday. The following day she was Cortland's top finisher on the 1-meter board in eighth-place out of 21 divers at the Ithaca Dick Comanzo Invitational with an 11-dive score of 353.55 points.
