Cortland's Bonacci and Misla Named SUNYAC Baseball Athletes of the Week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Cortland teammates Chris Bonacci and Luis Misla are this week's SUNYAC Baseball Athlete and Pitcher of the week respectively.
Bonacci batted .538 (7-for-13) with three doubles, a triple, a walk, four RBI, four runs and two steals as Cortland went 3-0 at Shenandoah's Mr. V. Memorial Tournament. He finished 2-for-2 with a walk, two steals, two RBI and two runs in a 17-5 win over Immaculata on Saturday. On Sunday, he was 2-for-5 with two RBI in a 5-0 win over Wittenberg and went 3-for-6 with a triple, two RBI in a 15-6 win over Shenandoah. Bonacci finished the weekend with a .923 slugging percentage and a .571 on-base percentage.
Misla tossed five and a third scoreless innings, allowing four hits and no walks and striking out 10 batters, in 15th-ranked Cortland's 5-0 win over Wittenberg University at the Shenandoah Mr. V Memorial Tournament. Wittenberg entered the game having scored 44 runs over its first five games.
