Salisbury Voted No. 1 in 2025 SUNYAC Field Hockey Preseason Poll
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Salisbury takes the top spot in the 2025 SUNYAC field hockey preseason poll as voted on by the league coaches. Cortland and New Paltz tied for second place in the poll.
Salisbury field hockey will compete in the SUNYAC for the first time after joining the league as an associate member. In 2024, the Sea Gulls advanced to the NCAA Division III semifinals and finished the season 17-3 overall. The Salisbury field hockey program has won five national championships, the last in 2009.
In 2024, the Cortland Red Dragons clinched the program's 18th overall conference trophy with a 2-1 win over New Paltz. Cortland advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament second round and ended the season 18-2 overall.
New Paltz will compete for its seventh overall conference title in 2025. The Hawks last won the league crown in 2021. The team ended the 2024 season with a 14-6 overall record.
