Albrecht and Reilly Honored with SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Weekly Awards
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The SUNYAC names New Paltz's Jamie Albrecht the league's Women's Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week while Cortland's Emma Reilly is the Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Albrecht led her team offensively in the Hawks' Hawks Invitational Friday and Saturday. In a four-set win over Mount Saint Mary, Albrecht led all hitters with 17 kills and 17.5 points, hitting a healthy .382 while averaging 4.25 kills per set. She added a game-high 17 digs with a block. In another four set win over Sage Saturday, she again finished with a game-high 17 kills, again averaging 4.25 kills per set, hitting an astounding .593 off 27 attempts while adding two aces and six digs. In another four set match to end the day against Union, she tallied a game- and season-high 18 kills, averaging 4.50 kills per set, hitting .289 with two assists, an ace, nine digs and two blocks while recording a game-high 20.5 points.
Reilly averaged two blocks per set during three Cortland sweeps at the Skidmore Classic. She recorded five total blocks, one solo, in a 3-0 win over Williams on Friday, and on Saturday she had four blocks, one solo, in a 3-0 win over Brandeis and nine blocks, two solo, in a 3-0 victory against Skidmore. Reilly also finished with 21 kills and a .439 attack percentage during the tournament.
