Hobart Takes 2026 SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey Crown
GENEVA, N.Y. - Hobart beat Oswego, 4-0, to win its first SUNYAC men's ice hockey title, Saturday night at The Cooler. This is the Statesmen's first year competing in the conference. With the win Hobart earned an automatic berth into the 2026 NCAA Division III men's ice hockey tournament.
Damon Beaver was named the SUNYAC Tournament MVP after recording 71 saves and three shutouts in net for Hobart in its three post season games.
Elite 20
The SUNYAC Elite 20, an award modeled after the NCAA ELITE 90 program, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The SUNYAC honored Josh Simpson a sophomore finance major with a 4.00 cumulative GPA.
