Tyrrell and Kadota-Browner Earn SUNYAC Men's Swimming and Diving Weekly Honors
SYRACUSE, N.Y – Oneonta's Delroy Tyrrell and Cortland's Kazuki Kadota-Browner are the SUNYAC Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week respectively.
Junior Tyrrell won three individual events and helped the Red Dragons win two relays at the weekend's Electric City Invitational. He placed first in the 50-yard freestyle at 21.87, won the 100-yard backstroke at 52.67, and took first in the 200-yard backstroke at 1:59.31. Tyrrell also helped Oneonta's 200-yard freestyle relay place first at 1:28.11 and the 200-yard medley relay win at 1:37.14. Additionally, the 400-yard freestyle relay took second with a 3:18.99 and the 400-yard medley relay placed second at 3:37.24.
Kadota-Browner won the 3-meter diving event with an 11-dive score of 459.25 points and was second on the 1-meter board with an 11-dive score of 445.25 points at the TCNJ Invitational. Both scores meet NCAA regional qualifying standards, and since he's now hit the NCAA mark on the 1-meter board twice he's qualified for the NCAA regionals at the end of February.
