Tobin and Brunache Take Home SUNYAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week Honors
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Penn State-Behrend's Carter Tobin is this week's SUNYAC Men's Outdoor Track and Field Track Athlete of the Week, while Cortland's Isaiah Brunache takes home the award for Field Athlete of the Week.
Tobin tallied two event wins on Saturday at Westminster. He ran a personal best time of 21.68 in the 200-meter and then a season best time of 10.75 in the 100-meter. Tobin was also a part of the 4x400 relay team that finished third with a time of 3:36.44.
Brunache broke the Cortland school record in the shot put with his winning heave of 17.60 meters at the Utica Pioneer Spring Invitational. He broke the previous school mark of 17.02 meters that he set during the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships. The 17.60 meters is a Utica facility record and currently ranks third nationally in Division III. Brunache also won the discus with a facility-record throw of 47.80 meters and he finished sixth in the hammer throw at 49.25 meters. All three of his efforts are AARTFC qualifiers.
