Oswego's Sparks named Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Oswego junior guard Jeremiah Sparks has been named the SUNYAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
The Jordan, N.Y., native continued his domination during the week by averaging nearly a point a minute over his three appearances as the Lakers posted a 3-0 mark.
He averaged 21.3 points per game during the week and unleashed a 27-point barrage in a 97-61 win over Plattsburgh on Jan. 27 and a 26-point onslaught on Jan. 24 in a 100-62 victory at Geneseo.
Sparks recorded 64 points in 68 minutes during the week by shooting 23 for 32 from the field (71.9%) and connecting on 9 of 13 from beyond the arc (69.2%).
In the Lakers' victory over Geneseo on Tuesday, Jan. 24, Sparks shot 85.7% from three-point range and was 10 for 13 from the field in just 24 minutes of action.
The junior guard collected 12 rebounds, three steals and 10 assists during the three conference victories.
