Cortland Baseball and Softball Ranked in Preseason Polls
The Cortland Red Dragon's baseball and softball teams are representing the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) in each of their respective preseason polls.
The Cortland men's baseball team is ranked number ten in the D3baseball.com Top 25 preseason rankings. Cortland finished the 2013 regular season with a record of 38-11; they lost to Ithaca in the championship round of the NCAA Division III New York Regional, 4-2. Pitcher, Brandon Serio, a 2013 NCAA Regional all-tournament team selection returns this season to help lead the Cortland Red Dragons.  Serio was also named the 2013 SUNYAC Clark V. Whited Rookie of the Year.
The Cortland women's softball team is ranked fourth in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Preseason Top 25 poll. Last year they finished as the runner up for the NCAA Division III National Champion which was their best finish in school history. They ended the regular season with a record of 35-17 and went on to capture their 12th SUNYAC Championship. The Red Dragons have many key returning starters this year and will look to make a push back to the Division III National Championship.
