Jeffes and Brunache Repeat as SUNYAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Cortland teammates Josh Jeffes and Isaiah Brunache are the SUNYAC Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week respectively.
Jeffes won the 500-meter dash at a quad meet hosted by Ithaca College with a Cortland school record and Ithaca facility record time of 1:04.14. Jeffes also anchored the Red Dragons' winning 4x400-meter relay team that posted a time of 3:16.59, which currently ranks first nationally in Division III and set an Ithaca facility record.
Brunache won both the shot put (16.67 meters/54' 8.25") and the weight throw (16.12 meters/52' 10.75") at a quad meet hosted by Ithaca College. Both performances are AARTFC qualifiers, and his shot put ranks third nationally in Division III as of Sunday evening.
