Jeffes and Hughes Take SUNYAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Weekly Awards
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Cortland teammates Josh Jeffes and Amarian Hughes earn SUNYAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week and Field Athlete of the Week respectively.
Jeffes earns his third-straight SUNYAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor this season after he won the 400-meter dash at the Nazareth Conference Challenge Cup with a meet-record time of 48.52 seconds. That performance currently ranks fourth nationally in Division III. In addition, Jeffes anchored Cortland's 4x400-meter relay team that set meet and facility records with a time of 3:16.32, improving their hold on the top spot nationally.
Hughes broke the Cortland school record and set a meet record with his winning triple jump of 15.21 meters (49' 11") at the Nazareth Conference Challenge Cup. His performance currently ranks second nationally in Division III.
