Locke Named National Division III Pitcher of the Week
Steve Locke (Oxford, NY/Oxford) earned NCAA Division III National Pitcher of the Week honors, covering games of April 5-11, as voted on by a panel of D-III members of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Locke, a junior right-hander, threw the first nine inning no-hitter in Brockport history as he shut down SUNY Oswego 3-0 on April 11. He walked two batters and struck out 11 while facing just 29 batters in nine innings. He struck out five in a row at one point, getting the last two hitters in the fourth inning and going 1-2-3 in the fifth. Seven of his eleven strikeouts were swinging and he added three assists and one putout.
Locke was also named the SUNYAC and ECAC Upstate Pitcher of the Week for his performance.
