Booth and Chismar Selected SUNYAC Player and Pitcher of the Week
BASEBALL PLAYER – Brockport
Corey Booth (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley), senior infielder
Brockport senior infielder Corey Booth led the Golden Eagles to a 3-1 conference week. He started the week off Tuesday, driving in the first of two runs in the 2-1 win over Fredonia on an RBI single to centerfield in the sixth inning. Booth was limited to one hit on Friday against SUNY Oswego before combining for six hits in the doubleheader. He keyed the Golden Eagles' win in game one extra innings on Saturday against the Lakers, driving in two runs in the top of the ninth to secure a 5-2 win. He went 4-for-5 from the plate for his second four-hit game of the season and added two hits in the 8-3 nightcap win. For the week, Booth batted .444(8-for-18) with five RBI and one run scored.
BASEBALL PITCHER – New Paltz
Chris Chismar (Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst), junior
New Paltz junior pitcher Chris Chismar struck out 14 batters in a non-decision start on Saturday against SUNY Oneonta, as he lasted nine innings in the Hawks' extra-inning 4-2 loss to the Red Dragons. He pounded the strike zone all game, throwing 97 strikes in 129 pitches and issuing just one walk. Chismar leads the team in ERA (1.51) and strikeouts (40), and he is 1-1 for the season.
