Britton and Woolley Selected SUNYAC Field Hockey Athletes of the Week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – SUNYAC selects New Paltz teammates Miranda Britton and Morgan Woolley as the conference's Field Hockey Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.
Britton was the offensive catalyst in a thrilling double overtime 3-2 win over No. 23 nationally ranked Ithaca Saturday in the Hawks' home opener. She scored the game's first goal to give her team the initial lead in the first quarter before scoring the game-winner two minutes into the second overtime to close out the victory for SUNY New Paltz. She totaled four shots in the game, all four on target with a game-high two goals, including the game-winner over a nationally ranked opponent to lead her team to a 3-0 start to the season thus far.
Woolley helped hold No. 23 ranked Ithaca to just two goals through 70-plus minutes Saturday in the Hawks, 3-2 double overtime win. The senior, manning the center back spot played every second of the contest and recorded a defensive save, while also assisting on the go-ahead goal in regulation off a corner to aid in the win.
