Ettere and Krautheim Chosen SUNYAC Field Hockey Athletes of the Week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC picks Cortland's Keirra Ettere and Oswego's Sam Krautheim as it's Field Hockey Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week respectively.
Ettere recorded four points on a pair of goals, including the game-winning goal, in a 7-1 victory for the nationally 8th-ranked Red Dragons. The senior blasted a shot from just inside the circle for the first goal of the game in the second quarter. She then scored Cortland's fourth goal in the third quarter by knocking in a shot right in front of goal.
In two games this week for the Lakers, Krautheim collected 15 saves. She was an important part of the first conference win of the season for the Lakers Friday when they hosted the Mustangs. She had 9 saves in that game including big ones down the stretch to keep Morrisville at bay in the closing minutes. Krautheim also currently leads the SUNYAC in saves with 142 which is 14 mote than second place.
