Cortland's Stuver and Wagner Tabbed SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Cortland teammates Kole Stuver and Travis Wagner earn SUNYAC Men's Offensive and Defensive Athlete of the Week honors.
Stuver had a pair of strong performances, posting 11 points on nine goals and two assists, and chipping in six ground balls across two road wins for the Red Dragons. The senior scored six goals and added two assists in an 18-8 victory at Nazareth on Wednesday evening, while also chipping in three ground balls. He then scored three goals and provided three ground balls in a 14-8 victory at Scranton on Saturday afternoon.
Wagner had a record-breaking week in goal in helping the Red Dragons to a pair of road victories, making 27 saves with a 62.8 save percentage and posting an 8.37 GGA for the week. He stopped 11 shots and allowed only eight goals in an 18-8 victory at Nazareth on Wednesday. The graduate student then made 16 saves while allowing just eight goals in a 14-8 win at Scranton on Saturday, also breaking the Cortland career goalkeeper saves record with 691 for his career.
