Oswego's O'Conner and Prescott Headline SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honors
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Oswego's Corey O'Connor and Logan Prescott have been selected the SUNYAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively. The duo helped the Lakers to a pair of key road victories during the week.
The awards were announced on Monday, March 31.
O'Connor was instrumental in Oswego's success, recording 12 points over two games. In a non-conference matchup against Keuka, the junior attackman tallied five points on four goals and an assist. He followed that performance with a dominant showing in the Lakers' first conference win of the season at New Paltz, scoring six times while adding an assist. He also contributed defensively with three caused turnovers and a trio of ground balls.
Prescott controlled the faceoff zone for the Lakers, giving Oswego crucial possession advantages. Against Keuka, the senior won 10 of 13 faceoffs while scooping up six ground balls. In the Lakers' SUNYAC win vs. New Paltz, he dominated by winning 16 of 20 faceoffs and securing 11 ground balls.
Prescott finished the week with a 79% faceoff win percentage (26 of 33).
