CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKETS SET FOR SPRING SPORTS
CORTLAND, N.Y. - With the completion of regular-season competition, the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's and women's lacrosse, baseball and softball brackets are set for the 2016 championships.
The women's lacrosse six-team championshipo begins May 3 with the first round hosted by the #3 Geneseo and #4 Oswego. The top two seeds, Cortland and Brockport earned a bye into the semifinals. The Red Dragons also earned home field advantage as the host of the semifinals and final, May 6-7. Full Bracket.
The men's lacrosse four team championship will start with semifinals on May 4 with the top-seeded Cortland hosting #4 Potsdam and the second-seeded Brockport hosting #3 Plattsburgh at 4 p.m. The championship game is set for May 7 at the highest remaining seed. Full Bracket.
The softball championship is May 5-8 and will feature the top six seeds. Regular-season champions, Cortland will host the double elimination championship and will play first vs. #6 Buffalo State Thursday at 9 a.m. Second-seeded Plattsburgh will face #5 New Paltz at 11 a.m. followed by #3 Geneseo vs. #4 Oneonta at 1 p.m. The loser of game one will play the loser of game two at 3 p.m. Full Bracket.
The double elimination baseball championship begins Friday, May 6 and concludes Sunday, May 8. Top-seeded Cortland earned the right to host and will play #4 Fredonia in the first game Friday at noon. Second-seeded Oswego will play #3 Brockport at 3:30 p.m. Full Bracket.
