CORTLAND, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has selected its athletes of the week going into the last week of regular season competition for winter sports. Swimming and diving athletes are preparing for the SUNYAC championships this week in Buffalo, N.Y., Feb. 17-20

MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Brian Sortino (JR)
    Oswego, Guard (Fairport/Fairport)
Sortino was Oswego's key offensive factor this week as the Lakers went 3-0 against SUNYAC opponents. The junior averaged 24.3 points between the three games, scoring 73 points in total. On Saturday, in the victory over No. 22 Plattsburgh, Sortino scored a career-high 38 points. From beyond the arc, Sortino shot .524 (11-for-21) and from the field .436 (24-for-55). Over the course of the three games, the Fariport, N.Y. native not only shot the ball well but also played the role of distributor. He dished out 16 assists compared to only four turnovers and tied a season-high seven assists against Plattsburgh.

    Fredonia, Forward (Mayville, N.Y./Chautauqua Lake)
In a pair of SUNYAC wins, Einink came off the Blue Devil bench to average 22.5 points -- same as senior teammate Sabrina Macaulay -- while improving her season average to 12.5 points per game. Her best work came in the fourth quarter at Brockport. Down by six to open the quarter, the Blue Devils erupted for 35 points. Einink had 13 of those points, plus two rebounds, four assists, and one steal. She finished with 19 points in 18 minutes of duty. Against Buffalo State, Einink was credited with 26 points and 11 rebounds -- her fifth double-double of the season.

ICE HOCKEY PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Taylor Pryce (JR)
Buffalo State, Forward (Newmarket, ON/Cardinal CarterO)
Pryce tallied seven points in a pair of victories that helped Buffalo State secure a SUNYAC playoff berth for a sixth-consecutive season. He had a pair of assists in a 3-2 overtime win over Geneseo on Friday, including a helper on the game winner. Pryce then netted two goals to go with three assists as the Bengals erased an early 2-0 deficit in a 7-3 win at Brockport on Saturday. He leads the Bengals with 13 goals and 27 points in 23 games this season.

    Plattsburgh, Goalie (Pontypool, Ontario/Colgate University)
