Geneseo's McGinnis and Hemer earn top D3hoops honors
Geneseo's Shannon McGinnis and head coach Scott Hemer were named D3hoops.com 2015 Women's All-East Region Player and Coach of the Year, respectively.
McGinnis took home the Player of the Year and first-team All-East honors. She became the first player in program history to grab 1,000 or more rebounds and is third in scoring with 1,473 points. She led the SUNYAC with 11.4 rebounds per game and was third in scoring with 15.7 points per game, while leading the Knights to the third round in the NCAA Division III tournament.
Hemer was named the East Region Coach of the Year after leading the Geneseo program to their fifth overall SUNYAC championship and a 25-5 record. The 2014-15 campaign saw the Knights win 19 straight before losing to FDU-Florham in the NCAA tournament sectional semifinals.
Olivia Suhr, Brockport, was named to the second team, while Cortland's Brittney Dumas and Buffalo State's Ashley Wallace were named to the third team.
