Morgan, Kozikoski and Galloway Earn PrestoSports Ice Hockey Weekly Honors
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has named Geneseo's Peter Morgan the PrestoSports Ice Hockey Athlete of the Week, Steven Kozikoski from Oswego the Goaltender of the Week and Brockport's Connor Galloway the Rookie fo the Week.
Morgan has been named the Athlet eof the Week for the third time this season after he helped lead the top-ranked Knights to a Thanksgiving Showcase championship, defeating UMass Boston 6-2 and No. 2 Utica 3-0. Morgan tallied three points in the win over UMass Boston with two goals and an assist, and then scored the game-winner in the first period against the Pioneers.
Kozikoski helped Oswego defeat previously unbeaten Williams College in a pair of contest this past weekend. The junior notched 24 saves in the team's 3-0 win on Saturday while holding the Ephs to 0-for-9 on the power play. On Sunday, he recorded another 26 saves as the Lakers improved to 5-3-1 with a 3-1 win in the rematch. Oswego is scheduled to play on Friday at SUNY Canton in a 7 p.m. contest.
Galloway recorded his first collegiate hat-trick over the weekend in the team's victory over Chatham University in the Skidmore Thanksgiving Invitational. In Sunday's game against the Cougars, Galloway tallied three points on three goals while picking up a plus/minus of +4. This season he's recorded a total of eight points on four goals and four assists with plus/minus of +9.
