Cory and Makowski chosen for PrestoSports Mens Outdoor Track and Field Weekly Awards
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has chosen Cortland's Ryan Cory and Mitchell Makowski as PrestoSports Men's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week.
Cory finished first out of 76 runners in the 5,000-meter run at the Susquehanna University Jim Taylor Invitational. His time of 14:57.08 currently ranks first in the SUNYAC and second in the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC).
Makowski finished second out of 39 competitors in the hammer throw at the Susquehanna University Jim Taylor Invitational with a career-best distance of 51.86 meters (170' 2") that ranks sixth nationally in Division III. Makowski also placed 10th of 37 in the shot put at 12.94 meters (42' 5.5") and 17th of 43 in the discus at 34.55 meters (113' 4").
