Brockport and Geneseo Split SUNYAC Weekly Awards
Indoor track and field rejoined the SUNYAC winter campaigns during the week of Jan. 9-15, 2012. Several individuals had outstanding performances to start the 2012 year, but it was Brockport and Geneseo who spilt the SUNYAC Athlete of the Week awards.
MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE - Geneseo
Eddie Novara (Angola, NY/Lake Shore)
Senior Eddie Novara won a pair of events as the Geneseo men's indoor team competed in a non-scoring meet at RIT Saturday afternoon. Novara won the mile run with a time of 4:12.41, which currently ranks second in NCAA Division III, and won the 3,000 meters in an ECAC-qualifying time of 8:36.59.

WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE – Geneseo
Keira Wood (Lake Ronkonkoma, NY/Sachem North), freshman
Keira Wood posted the fastest time in NCAA Division III competition this season with a 2:17.02 in the 800 meters at the RIT Invitational on Saturday. She led the pack of 21 runners and finished five full seconds ahead of the runner-up.

MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE - Brockport
Zach Ferrara (Rochester, NY/Irondequoit), junior
Zach Ferrara was the top collegiate finisher out of 23 competitors in the men's pole vault at RIT Invitational Saturday finishing at 15 ft. 5 inches. His leap was an ECAC qualifying height and currently ranks sixth in the country.

Becky Fabbiano (Lockport, NY/Lockport), senior
Senior Becky eclipsed an ECAC Championship meet qualifying standard in the first meet of the season as The College at Brockport competed at the RIT Invitational Saturday at the Gordon Fieldhouse. Fabbiano cleared a height of 3.20 meters (10 feet, 2 inches) to finish second overall in the pole vault. Her leap is currently ranked #20 in the nation.
