Outdoor Track and Field Championships Set for May 4-5
SUNYAC teams travel to Oneonta NY, for the 2012 SUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 4-5. The SUNYAC Championships consist of eight teams on both the men’s and women’s side. Last season, Geneseo men won their third consecutive title, while the Cortland women won their first title since 2007.
Entering the championships, two men’s teams are nationally ranked in the USTFCCCA top 25, as Geneseo comes in at No. 18, followed by Oneonta who completes the poll at No. 25. Regionally, SUNYAC has five teams in the top ten for the men, led by Cortland at No. 1, Geneseo (3), Oneonta (7), Buffalo State (9) and Brockport sits at No. 10.
On the women’s side, the latest ranking as of May 2 has Cortland at No. 25 nationally. In the regional rankings Cortland lead the way at No. 2 followed by Geneseo (7), Buffalo State (8) and Brockport (9).
