Kathy Taylor IWLCA Empire Region Coach of the Year for Third Straight Season
For the third straight season, SUNY Cortland women's lacrosse head coach Kathy Taylor has been selected as the Division III Empire Region Coach of the Year by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
In 2013, Taylor guided Cortland to a 21-2 record and the program's third consecutive NCAA Div. III "final four" berth. The team captured its 15th straight State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title and at one point won 18 consecutive games before losing to defending national champion Trinity (Conn.), 8-6, in the national semifinals.
In her five seasons at Cortland, Taylor has a combined record of 93-16 (.853) with five NCAA tournament apperances. She is a Cornell University alumna and won two New York State titles (2004 and 2005) while the head coach at Fayetteville-Manlius High School.
