Rosing Chosen for D3baseball.com National Team of the Week
Cortland junior first baseman Max Rosing (Rockville Centre/South Side) has been selected to the D3baseball.com national “Team of the Week,” which consists of the top players for the week, by position, among all Division III schools. Earlier this week, Rosing was named the State University of New York Athleteic Conference (SUNYAC) Baseball Player of the Week.
In two wins Sunday in Auburndale, Fla., Rosing went a combined 8-for-10 with a homer, four doubles, a walk, eight RBI and five runs scored. He finished 5-for-6 with a grand slam, three doubles, a walk, seven RBI and three runs in a 20-0 win over FDU-Florham and was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs in an 8-5, come-from-behind win over RPI.
Through the end of Sunday’s action, Rosing was batting .429 with a homer and 10 RBI in seven games. Cortland started last week ranked fourth nationally by D3baseball.com and has since moved up to the top spot in the national poll with an 8-2 record (includes a win Monday versus Webster and a loss Tuesday versus Spalding University).
