Trovato, Carozza and Pyz Recognized by ECAC
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Baseball and Softball Pitchers of the Week and the SUNYAC Softball Player of the Week have received Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) accolades.

Chris Pyz—SUNY New Paltz
Junior, RHP, Kings Park, NY
New Paltz junior pitcher Chris Pyz held Oswego State to one run, as the Hawks topped the Lakers, 2-1, on April 5. New Paltz went 3-1 during the course of the week. Pyz, who earned the win by throwing a complete game in nine innings of work, scattered four hits while allowing one earned run. He also struck out seven, which served as his single-game career high. For the season, Pyz is 1-1 with a 2.81 ERA.

Player of the Week
Tori Trovato – Oswego State
Freshman, Shortstop, Fulton, N.Y.
Trovato hit .625 from the plate with a .647 on-base percentage and a 1.062 slugging percentage over the weekend. After going hitless in the first game against Buffalo State, Trovato went 4-for-4 in the nightcap with three runs scored, four RBI and two homeruns. On Saturday against Fredonia, she had a pair of three-hit games scoring six runs and driving in four runs. Trovato currently leads the team in batting average (.400), slugging percentage (.580) and on-base percentage (.444).

Amber Carozza – SUNY New Paltz
SR, Milton, NY
Carozza threw two shutouts and compiled a 2-0 record in a 4-2 week for the Hawks. In game one of a doubleheader against SUNY Potsdam on April 5, she threw her first career no-hitter, issuing one walk and striking out nine in New Paltz's 15-0, five-inning victory. Carozza followed that feat up with another shutout the following day, tossing a two-hitter in the Hawks' 3-0 triumph in the front end of a doubleheader against SUNY Plattsburgh. She also struck out three against the Cardinals. For the season, Carozza ranks first on the team and third in the SUNYAC in ERA (1.80), and she leads New Paltz in strikeouts with 30.
