Cahill, Petizian and Shiller Honored with SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey Weekly Awards
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has picked Tommy Cahill from Oswego as this week's Men's Ice Hockey Athlete of the Week, Matt Petizian from Geneseo as the Goaltender of the Week and Plattsburgh's Eli Shiller as the Rookie of the Week.
Cahill continued to prove his offensive threat over the weekend as he tallied three points against SUNYAC foe Cortland. He scored two goals including the game-winning goal and added one assist in the 5-4 win. This brings his season total to four goals, three assists and seven total points.
In their 7-1 win over Postdam on Friday, Petizian picked up 26 saves to earn the win and move to 4-0-0 in net this season. The following day, he made a career-high 40 saves and earned the draw in net against Plattsburgh, 2-2.
Shiller made 21 saves in his debut in the net for Plattsburgh backstopping the Cardinals to a 9-2 win over Brockport on Friday evening.
