Maxwell and Shiller Honored with SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey Weekly Awards
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The SUNYAC has picked Brockport's Chase Maxwell as the Men's Ice Hockey Athlete and Rookie of the week while Plattsburgh's Eli Shiller has been named the Goaltender of the Week.
After being a vital part of Brockport's offense Tuesday against Fredonia, Maxwell recorded his first four point game of his collegiate career against Franklin Pierce. Maxwell scored a goal in the both the second and third period, as well as an assist in the second and another in the third. After the week Maxwell is up +5 and was a big part of both wins.
Shiller earned his third shutout of the season on Saturday, backstopping the Cardinals to a 2-0 victory over Williams College. He turned aside all 26 shots on goal that he faced. For the season, he leads the SUNYAC in save percentage (.949) and goals-against average (1.28).
