Cortland Sweeps SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey Weekly Awards
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Cortland teammates Domenic Settimo, Luca Durante and Colby Seitz have been selected as the SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey Athlete, Goaltender and Rookie of the Week respectively.
Settimo scored six points on one goal and five assists and recorded a +5 rating in two home SUNYAC wins last weekend as the Red Dragons finished the regular season with a 16-8-1 overall record and an 11-5 mark in the conference. He tallied five points on a goal and four assists and had a +5 rating in an 8-1 win versus Fredonia on Friday night and registered an assist on Cortland's first goal in a 3-1 victory versus Buffalo St. on Saturday. For the season, Settimo leads Cortland with 29 points on a team-best 15 goals and 14 assists and has recorded a +12 rating.
Durante posted a 2-0 record with a 1.00 GAA and a .946 save percentage last weekend as Cortland recorded two home SUNYAC wins. In an 8-1 victory versus Fredonia on Friday, he stopped 21 shots. He then turned aside 14 shots in a 3-1 win versus Buffalo St. on Friday. For the season, Durante has started 22 games, posting a 14-7-1 record with a 2.77 GAA 661 saves and a .919 save percentage.
Seitz helped lead Cortland to a pair of key home conference victories last weekend that clinched the fourth seed in the upcoming SUNYAC playoffs, scoring five points on three goals and two assists and recording a +5 rating. In an 8-1 win versus Fredonia on Friday, he recorded two goals and an assist and a +4 rating. He then scored Cortland's first goal and assisted on a late third-period goal in a 3-1 victory versus Buffalo St. on Saturday. For the season, Seitz leads all Cortland newcomers in scoring with 22 points on seven goals and a team-high 15 assists.
