Three SUNYAC soccer players earn ECAC weekly honors
Three SUNYAC soccer players were honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Â for their performance for the week ending September 14. Cayli Carmona (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia) was selected as the Women's Offensive Player of the Week. Alexis Archilla (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) was selected as the Men's Offensive Player of the Week, and Tim Beauvais (Hilton, N.Y./Hilton) was selected as the Men's Defensive Player of the Week.
Cayli Carmona the senior forward from Brockport scored two goals and an assist in their home opener, totaling five points for the week. Carmona leads the conference in five categories and is tied at the top in two others.
Alexis Archilla of Plattsburgh had a total of four goals over the week. The first two came against Castleton with the first being a bicycle kick that found the back of the net. The second two goals came against Union with one being the game winner. Archilla ranks first in the SUNYAC in five different categories.
Tim Beauvais had a stellar week helping Cortland go 3-0. The senior goalkeeper recorded three shutouts. One of which was against previously unbeaten No. 14 Montclair State. Over the week he recorded 13 saves without letting up a single goal.
