Soccer and field hockey championship matchups set for Saturday
CORTLAND, N.Y. – The men's and women's soccer and field hockey State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship games are set for Saturday, November 8.
The top two seeds on both the men's and women's side have made it through the SUNYAC championship bracket and will face each other in the finals, Saturday at 1 p.m.
In the semifinals Wednesday, Cortland men defeated Brockport, 1-0, in overtime and will travel to face top-seeded Oneonta who beat Geneseo, 4-0. Oneonta and Cortland last met on September 27 and ended in a 2-2 tie in a double overtime match. Oneonta is looking to captures its eighth SUNYAC title and first since 2012 while Cortland looks to pick up its 18th crown and first since 2008. Watch Live and Live Stats
The women's No. 1 seed, Geneseo topped Plattsburgh, 3-0, and the No. 2 seed Cortland defeated Buffalo State, 1-0, in overtime. The Knights and Red Dragons went to a 1-1 overtime tie last time they met, October 18. Geneseo is playing to capture its sixth SUNYAC title and first since 2009 while Cortland hopes to win its ninth crown and first since 2012. Watch Live and Live Stats
