Two SUNYAC goalies earn ECAC honors
CORTLAND, N.Y. - Two State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) soccer goalkeepers have been honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) this week. Renee Walker (Coram, N.Y.) has been selected as the Female Defensive Player of the Week, and Casey Sullivan (East Syracuse, N.Y.) has been selected as the Male Co-Defensive Player of the Week. Â
Walker, the Cortland Red Dragons goalkeeper had a great weekend posting a pair of shutouts. She totaled 12 saves, eight in the 1-0 victory against Buffalo State, and four in the 3-0 win at Fredonia.
Sullivan helped lead Brockport to a 1-0-1 record last week. He recorded seven saves in a 0-0 tie against SUNY Geneseo. He also had three saves in the 2-1 victory over Houghton. On the week he totaled 10 saves.
