NSCAA honors SUNYAC men's soccer student-athletes and assistant coach
Twelve State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's soccer players have been selected to the 2014 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Division III Men's All-East Regional Teams, two athletes were honored as All-Americans.

Three Oneonta student-athletes, Anthony Passiatore (So., Defense), Dylan Williams (Jr., Midfield), and Jake Sutherland (Jr., Forward), were named to the All-East Region First Team. Williams was also named to the 2014 NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Men's Division III All-America First Team while Sutherland was named to the second team.
Cortland's Tim Beauvais (Sr., Goalkeeper) and Brockport's Peter DiLorenzo (Jr., Forward) were also selected to the All-East Region First Team.
The Second Team was led by an Oneonta duo, Vincent Pellegrino (Sr., Goalkeeper) and Jared Van Brunt (Jr., Defense). Cortland's Darren McCormack (Sr., Midfield) and Plattsburgh's Alexis Archilla (So., Forward) rounded out the Second Team squad.
The Third Team consisted on Geneseo's Brad Campion (Jr., Defense), Plattsburgh's Fabian Chapparo (Jr., Midfield) and Cortland's Ole Toepfer (Jr., Forward).
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America also announced the 24 individuals named Regional Assistant Coaches of the Year, as well as the four assistants named NSCAA/Field Turf Assistant Coaches of the Year for senior college, junior college, and high school.
SUNY Oneonta men's soccer assistant coach, Geoff Moore, has been named as the recipient of the Glenn "Mooch" Myernick College Assistant Coach of the Year for the Northeast Region from the NSCAA.Â
"Geoff's commitment to our program is unquestioned," stated head coach Iain Byrne, who nominated Moore for the honor. "He goes above and beyond his duties, and he is always the first to volunteer for any additional responsibilities. His ability to scout, recruit, and develop our players has played a key role in building our nationally ranked program."

The award is named in honor of the former Hartwick College All-American who died suddenly in 2006. Myernick won the 1976 Hermann Trophy as that year's outstanding collegiate player. He spent eight seasons in the North American Soccer League and one in Major Indoor Soccer League, while also representing the U.S. National team. After retiring from playing professionally, Myernick spent over twenty years as a professional and national team coach.

Moore just completed his fifth season at Oneonta, where he assisted Oneonta's head man, Iain Byrne, in leading the Red Dragons to the NCAA Division III Final Four. He has an Associate's degree in General Studies from SUNY Delhi, where he was the head coach from 2004-08.
