Men's and Women's SUNYAC Soccer Semifinal Match-Ups Locked in
With the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's and women's soccer quarterfinals complete, the top two seeds know who they will face in Wednesday's semifinal games.
On the men's side, No. 1 Plattsburgh State will take on No. 4 Cortland at 1:00 p.m. Cortland moved on after they defeated Geneseo Saturday 3-1. Earlier this season the Cortland Red Dragons topped the Cardinals 4-3 in overtime.
No. 2, Oneonta will go up against New Paltz who scored one goal against Brockport on Saturday to advance. Oneonta also scored one goal to defeat New Paltz last time they faced each other October 13th.
For the women, top seeded Brockport prepares to play No. 4 Cortland who beat Buffalo State 3-0 on Saturday. The Golden Eagles defeated the Cortland Red Dragons 3-2 when they faced each other earlier this season.
Second seeded Oneonta will face Fredonia who outlasted New Paltz in penalty kicks (3-2) after a 2-2 double overtime on Satruday. Fredonia topped Oneonta 1-0 when they played each other last.
The SUNYAC men's and women's soccer final is set for Saturday, November 3 at 1:00 p.m. If one school hosts both the men's and women's championships, the men will play at 11:00 a.m. and the women will play 30 minutes after the completion of the men's game.
