ECAC Recognizes Four SUNYAC Athletes as Soccer All-Stars
The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the 2012 Metro/Upstate Division III All-Star Teams and Yearly Awards for Men's and Women’s Soccer. Four State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) athletes were honored including SUNY Oneonta's Dan Scott (Salt Point, NY), Karley DeSimone (Clifton Park, NY) and Krystal Scott (Centerreach, NY) and SUNY Fredonia's Reilly Condidorio (Leroy, NY).
SUNY Oneonta's senior defender Dan Scott adds this ECAC All-Star Team selection to his collection of awards this season. Scott was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-East Region first team, he was voted the SUNYAC Men’s Soccer Most Valuable Player of the Year and he was selected to the All-SUNYAC first team.
In addition to being selected to the ECAC All-Star team, junior midfielder DeSimone was named to the NSCAA third team. She started in all 20 games for the Red Dragons this season scoring five goals and adding three assists.
Krystal Scott has been named the ECAC Women's Soccer Metro/Upstate Division III Rookie of the Year. Scott was also the SUNYAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Year this season. She anchored a defense for the Oneonta Red Dragons that went undefeated at home (9-0) allowing just 21 goals.
Condidorio adds this ECAC All-Star Team accolade to her being named to the NSCAA All-America second team for the second year in a row. Also an All-SUNYAC first team member, she finished the season with nine goals, four of them to win games, and 22 points to add to her school records in both categories.
