Conference Names Athletes of the Week
The State University of New York Athletic Conference has selected the athletes of the week for the week of March 21-27. It is the first week of honors for Outdoor Track and Field.

BASEBALL PLAYER – New Paltz
Jake Cameron (Rockville Centre, NY/South Side), junior Designated Hitter
Jake Cameron (Rockville Centre, NY) helped the Hawks to a 3-3 record last week at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic. He batted .455 with team-high in hits (10), doubles (3) and total bases (13). Cameron scored four runs and drove in four more as he extended his hit streak to 10 games.
BASEBALL PITCHER – New Paltz
Brett Harrison (Merrick, NY/Bellmore JFK), senior
Brett Harrison (Merrick, NY) contributed toward one win this past week at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic, working five innings of scoreless action on the hill in a 4-3 win over Western Connecticut State University. He scattered three hits and walked four.

Krista Baker (Dunkirk, NY/Dunkirk), senior third base
Krista Baker (Dunkirk, NY) hit .476 (10-of-21) through the first eight games of the season for the Bengals to earn SUNYAC Softball Player of the Week honors. Baker had four multi-hit games including going 3-for-3 in the win over Kalamazoo. She posted two hits in games against Trinity, Southern Maine, and Williams. Baker finished the week with five RBI’s, six runs scored and four stolen bases.
SOFTBALL PITCHER – N/A
Senior Mike Tammaro (Painted Post, NY) scored a goal and handed out a career-high six assists as The College at Brockport defeated Medaille College 16-9 early last week. Tammaro, who had never recorded more than two assists in a game before facing Medaille, had a hand in five consecutive goals, scoring once and getting four assists as Brockport built a 7-5 lead. Tammaro also added two fourth-quarter assists to help the Golden Eagles pick up their second straight win.
MEN’S LACROSSE GOALIE – Plattsburgh

Danny Caufield (Rochester, NY) recorded 14 saves in the Cardinals' win over Division II St. Michael's Wednesday to earn his second consecutive SUNYAC Goalie of the Week honor. Caufield stopped seven shots in the third quarter, when St. Michael's peppered the Cardinals with 15 shots, including 10 on goal. In the final quarter, Caufield made two saves to secure the two-goal win.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE PLAYER – Geneseo
Caroline Buonocore (Syracuse, NY/Westhill), freshman attack
First year Caroline Buonocore (Syracuse, NY) set the school record for goals in a game by a freshman with eight, including the game-winner with 25 seconds left, as the Geneseo women's lacrosse team defeated host #19 William Smith Saturday afternoon, 16-15. Buonocore tied the old mark with seven goals last week. Geneseo is 3-0 on the season, led by Buonocore with 19 goals and 19 points.

Ally Levy (Reisterstown, MD) helped lead eighth-ranked Cortland to a pair of road wins last week. The sophomore made 10 saves and recorded three ground balls in a 12-9 win at second-ranked Hamilton, snapping the Continentals' 38-game home-winning streak dating back to 2006. In a 17-7 victory at Ithaca on Saturday, Levy made 10 saves, stopping 55.6% of the shots she faced on the week.

Zac Karpinski (Syracuse, NY) finished first out of 49 competitors in the 200-meter dash at Army's Dick Shea Open with a time of 23.01 seconds. He also placed third out of 32 sprinters in the 100-meter dash (11.34) and anchored Cortland's 4x100-meter relay team that finished third in 44.38 seconds.

Jenna Evarts (West Islip, NY/West Islip), junior
Junior Jenna Evarts (West Islip, NY) competed on Cortland's winning 4x100-meter relay team (51.15) and runner-up 4x400-meter relay team (4:21.68) at Army's Dick Shea Open. She also finished 13th in the 200-meter dash (27.62).

Ben Depo (Saranac, NY/Saranac), sophomore
Ben Depo (Saranac, NY) was the top Division III athlete in the decathlon at West Point's Dick Shea Invitational, finishing fifth and tallying 5,779 points among a field of Division I athletes. After day one, Depo sat in seventh place overall before moving up on the second day, setting a decathlon point personal-best by nearly 400 points. Depo finished in the top five in half of events including a second place finish in the 1500 meter (4:50.02), third in the javelin (49.15m) and fourth in the discus (33.94m).

Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay, NY/Oyster Bay)
Kristen Serikstad (Oyster Bay, NY) provisionally qualified for the NCAA Div. III Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the high jump with her performance at Army's Dick Shea Open. She finished second out of 19 competitors with a height of 1.68 meters (5 feet, 6.25 inches). She tied for the best height, but finished second due to number of misses.
