Geneseo to Host SUNYAC Track and Field Championships
SUNYAC teams travel to Geneseo, NY, for the 2011 SUNYAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 6-7. The SUNYAC Championships consist of eight teams on both the men’s and women’s side. Last season, Geneseo men won their second consecutive title, while the Geneseo claimed its sixth title in in the last eight years.
Entering the championships, three men’s teams are nationally ranked in the USTFCCCA top 25, as Fredonia comes in at No. 19, followed by Buffalo State (21st) and Cortland (25). Regionally, SUNYAC has four teams in the top ten for the men, led by Cortland at No. 1, Geneseo (3), Buffalo State (6) and Fredonia sits at No. 7.
On the women’s side, the latest regional ranking as of May 3 has Cortland at No. 2, Buffalo State at #6, Geneseo (7) and Oneonta and Brockport complete the standings at No. 8 and 10, respectively.
