Four SUNYAC athletes earn ECAC honors
Cortland, N.Y. - Three SUNYAC soccer players along with a male cross country runner were honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for their performance for the week ending September 21. Laura Thompson (Victor, NY) was chosen as the Female Defensive player of the week. Peter DiLorenzo (Hicksville, NY) was honored with the Male Offensive Player of the Week. Vincent Pellegrino (Baldwin, NY) was chosen as the Male Defensive Player of the Week, and Mike Scher (New York, NY) was chosen as the Male runner of the week.
Scher was the top finisher for the Hawks at Saturday's UMass-Dartmouth Invtiational, placing 13th in the 255-runner-field. The senior co-captain turned in a time of 25:45.7, averaging 5:09.2 a mile.

Laura Thompson the Senior Brockport goalkeeper achieved the difficult task of shutting out 12th-ranked Union College to help her team go on to win 1-0.Â

Peter DiLorenzo the Junior also from Brockport had the game-winning goal against Medailleto to keep Brockport undefeated this season.

Vincent Pellegrino, Oneonta's senior goalkeeper had two shutouts this week. The first came in an overtime draw against 20th-ranked Rochester. The second came against 14th-ranked RPI where he had three saves helping Oneonta come out on top with the score of 1-0.
