Four SUNYAC athletes earn ECAC weekly honors
CORTLAND, N.Y. – Four more State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) athletes have been honored by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) this week. Katie Ehmann (Kingston, N.Y.) has been selected as the Co-Runner of the Week, Maddie Zwickl (Chester, N.Y.)  was honored as the Co-Player of the Week for volleyball,  Sarita Charap (Ocean City, N.J.) earned Field Hockey Co-Defensive Player of the Week, and Nick Marcantonio (Glen Falls, N.Y.) has been chosen as the Runner of the Week.
Ehmann the senior from Plattsburgh helped her team finish third out of 16 teams. She ran the 5k course in 17.58 which earned her a fifth-place finish at the Hamilton Invitational.
Zwickl a freshman from New Paltz helped the Hawks to a 3-1 week. She averaged 0.67 kills per set, 0.42 service aces per set and 0.17 blocks per set on the week. In total she had 136 assists.
Charap helped Oswego to a 1-1 record with another great week of goaltending. She held nationally-ranked St. John Fisher to only two goals, with 12 saves. She also shutout Elmira College with six saves in the 3-0 win.
Cortland senior runner Nick Marcantonio finished second out of 177 runners at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational. The 8k meter course only took him 25:12. Marcantonio led Cortland to a second place finish out of 14 schools.
