All-America Honors for 2010 Cross Country Released
The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) had four men and two women receive All-America honors for the 2010 NCAA Division III Cross Country season out of 70 student-athletes as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Overall finish at the NCAA Championships is the determining factor as the top 35 individuals from both men's and women's races earn All-America plaudits from the USTFCCCA.
Plattsburgh State senior Mike Heymann earned his third All-America citation in as many years after finishing in fifth place at the NCAA Division III Championships. Heymann was the top runner representing the SUNYAC with a clocking of 24 minutes and 28.9 seconds on the 8-kilometer course.
The Geneseo men's team saw three individual earn All-America honors as the Knights took seventh overall out of 32 teams. Junior Lee Berube finished eighth in the race in 24:33, senior Ryan O'Connor placed 10th in 24:36 and junior Eddie Novara ran 27th in 24:49.
One the women's side, Geneseo sophomore Marissa Liberati posted an All-America finish as she ran 27th in a time of 21:40. Cortland junior Alyson Dalton posted a time of 21:42.5 for 31st overall.
