Swimming and Diving Championship Preview
With the regular season finished, SUNYAC teams will be traveling to Buffalo, NY, for the 2012 SUNYAC Swimming and Diving Championships beginning Wednesday, February 8 and will run through Saturday Feb. 11 at the Burt Flickinger Center. Wednesday will feature the first round of preliminary dives only beginning at 12:00 p.m. and then the following three-days will feature preliminary races and diving during the morning sessions, starting at 10:00 a.m. each day, followed by event finals in the evening sessions, which start at 6:00 p.m. daily.
Last season, the Geneseo men successfully defended their team title for the 13th consecutive year with 854 points as the Blue Wave took home 14 of 20 events during the three-day championship. The Geneseo women won five individual events and placed second in seven others on the way to their fourth consecutive SUNYAC title.
Tickets will be sold at the door for both prelims and finals each day. The cost is $5 per adult and $2 per student (college students must show ID), kids 10 and under are free. All-Session passes will also be made available at the door. An adult pass is $30 and is good for all sessions (prelims and finals). Included with the pass will be one heat sheet for each session. A student pass is $12 and good for all sessions (prelims and finals). No heat sheet will be included with this pass.
