Walsh and Max Named Swimmers of the Week
The SUNYAC has named the men's and women's swimmers of the week for the week ending Nov. 20.
Oneonta sophomore Ryan Walshpulled off the trifecta this past weekend in leading the Oneonta men to the team title at the North Country Invitational. Walsh, who was competing for the first time this winter, won the 100 butterfly (54.07), 200 butterfly (2:01.77) and the 200 freestyle (1:51.04). Beyond his individual performances, he participated on all four winning relays.
Geneseo freshman Abby Maxhighlighted the performances for the Blue Wave at the Ithaca Quadrangle meet as she won the 500 freestyle in a pool record time of 5:15.48. She also placed second in the 200 free in an ECAC-qualifying time of 1:57.24 and aided the 400 freestyle relay to a second place time of 3:41.88.
